 Bariatric laparoscopic surgery
It is done with the technique of the ring. The "principle" of the ring consists on
the partition of the stomach in a pocket of 15 ml, while creating a narrow communication that can be handled (to widen or to tighten). The big advantage of this technique is that it is reversible without great difficulties.
Gastric bypass surgery
The pocket, although larger, empties itself directly in the jejunum while
short-circuiting the duodenum. The loss of weight is due to a double mechanism:
1 - reduction of the contribution (pocket). 2 - a moderate poor absortion.
